TJ is the Executive Director for Pivot. He brings a unique blend of experiences from three different sectors: military, business, and pastoral leadership.
TJ grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and went to college at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Upon graduation, he served as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army for nine years in active duty and reserves. After separating from active duty, he went to work for Bradley-Morris, a recruiting firm specializing in placing transitioning military into the corporate sector. During his 13 years with Bradley-Morris, TJ went on to become one of the Principal owners of the company. He helped grow the organization from one office to a multi-location, multi-state operation, placing over 15,000 veterans. It became one of the largest non-franchise staffing firms in the United States with over 200 employees.
Prior to founding Pivot in 2021, TJ served for eleven years in a variety of full-time pastoral roles at Austin Ridge Bible Church. He has a Masters in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary, and he is on the board of TradingUp, a ministry led by Doug Sherman, a prominent author/speaker on the topic of faith in the marketplace.
TJ and his wife, Rachel, have three children, Jake, Emma, and Thomas. They reside in Austin, TX. He enjoys watching college and pro football, golfing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Steve serves Pivot as the Director of Next Generation Programs focused on helping early & mid-career professionals to integrate work and faith through the Rising Leader Impact Program and Workplace Fellowships.
Prior to this role, he served as the Managing Director of The For the City Network at the Austin Stone Community Church. He served in pastoral leadership there for 11 years and most recently, oversaw the church’s community engagement programs and initiatives collaborating with church, business, and non-profit leaders to address disparities in the Greater Austin area. Helping believers toward a deeply anchored spiritual life and helping believers bring their faith to work have been a constant in this chapter of Steve’s career.
Steve's a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA in Finance. He, his wife Anne, and their three children are happy to call Austin home.
Susan Tolles is Pivot's Director of Operations and Rising Leader Program Co-Lead, bringing together her background in organizational management and life purpose coaching, her gifts of administration, and her passion for discipling young professionals to support Pivot’s rich mission of helping leaders practice sacred work. Her role includes operations management, co-leading the Rising Leader Impact Program, and strategic planning.
Susan has called Austin home since coming here to attend the University of Texas where she met her husband Jim and graduated with a degree in finance. She has a deep love for the city and is blessed that her three children and six grandchildren live nearby. Susan sees her role with Pivot Leadership as one way to leave a legacy for them while building God’s kingdom locally and around the world. God has also called her to serve women who have been wounded by abuse, addiction, exploitation, and poverty, leading her to share her expertise and gifts with Red Oak Hope and The Women of Pader Uganda.
Clay has over a decade of experience in the nonprofit world and is overseeing the launch and ongoing operations for Pivot. Through his company, Wellstead Solutions, Clay has helped launch new organizations, revived struggling ones, and offered much-needed clarity to visionary leaders to keep world-changing visions alive. Wellstead Solutions excels in managing financial systems, donor relations, and everything needed to launch and run a successful nonprofit. Clay oversees Pivot's financial operations and serves on the Pivot Leadership Fiduciary Board.
After years of living abroad, Clay and his family have settled in their home town of Tomball, Texas, where they enjoy tending to their gardens, raising chickens, and tinkering in the workshop.
René is Community Engagement Coordinator for Pivot and brings a unique background of 30 plus years’ experience and leadership from the marketplace and non-profit sectors. Her focus is to provide deep relational connections across the Pivot community while helping professionals practice sacred work and exercise their gifts across the greater Austin faith-work ecosystem. Devoted to working with both young and seasoned leaders who desire to grow in faith and leadership, René provides useful tools, resources, and training for living out faith in the workplace.
She is passionate about spiritually centered growth and development through mentorship and coaching, supporting others in realizing the full potential God has placed on their hearts. Bringing her gifts of connectedness and developing to Pivot, René believes God cares as much about who we become in our faith and work, as what we do.
Originally from Nashville, René and her husband Robin have called Austin home for over 21 years. Spending time with community and family brings her the utmost joy, and she feels blessed to have 2 adult daughters, 2 grandchildren, and one precocious Yorkie.
Kristine serves as Pivot’s Workplace Fellowship Associate. She oversees the day to day operations, communication and administrative support for workplace fellowships as well as care for workplace leaders. Kristine brings both her lived experience of integrating faith in the workplace and her gifts of intentional listening and practical compassion cultivated through her work as a nurse. She loves getting to meet with leaders in Austin workplaces and is consistently encouraged and humbled to see how God uses their small acts of faithfulness, boldness, and presence at work to build relationships and point to the hope they have in Jesus.
Prior to this role, Kristine worked in organ donation coordination and as a nurse in critical care at a local hospital, where she had the privilege of co-leading a workplace fellowship. She also serves as a birth and postpartum doula with GALS (Giving Austin Labor Support).
Kristine is from Boise, Idaho and has lived in Austin for the last 7 years after graduating from Baylor University. Her favorite title by far is that of Auntie to one niece and nephew, as well as many “littles” in her community here. She loves spending time with friends, drinking good coffee and being outdoors as much as possible. She can often be found reading and cooling off at Barton Springs.

Tim serves on the Pivot Fiduciary Board along with the Advisory Team. He has over 25 years of leadership experience in the global marketplace, ministry, and nonprofit segments and has led organizations ranging in size and maturity from start-ups to the Fortune Global 50.
Tim is the founder and managing partner of Ozbun Allen, LLC- a strategic management consulting organization. Ozbun Allen provides organizations with strategic advisement on Corporate Strategy, Market Expansion, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Acquisition, Business Development, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, and Organizational Health.
Tim is a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno with a B.S. degree in Business Administration (emphasis in Technology & Supply Chain Management), attended the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, CA., and earned his MBA in Marketing and Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Tim and his wife, Jennifer, have two children and reside in Austin, TX. Tim enjoys mountain & road biking, hiking, music, and spending time with his family.
Kelly Hopping is the Chief Marketing Officer for HYCU, a global leader in multi-cloud data backup protection. Kelly served in various marketing leadership positions at Gartner, Rackspace, AMD, and Dell. Kelly’s passion for branding and product management began at Kraft Foods, prior to Dell, where she managed a variety of brands including Chips Ahoy!, Nutter Butter, Breakstone cottage cheese, and Kraft string cheese.
She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. She serves on the board of her local library, and she has spoken at various leadership conferences including the Texas Conference for Women, the HEB Women in Leadership Conference, BrightEdge Share19, and the CMO Mentor Roundtable at the Digital Creative Institute. Kelly was also featured on the B2B Growth podcast. Kelly resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband and three children where she loves watching her kids play sports, hiking with her family, mentoring young women early in their careers, and yelling for her Texas A&M Aggies!
Randy’s business career includes roles as President, CEO & Chairman of the Board for divisions of publicly traded companies. From 1998-2018 he served as President & CEO of DHI Financial Services, a division of D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the country and a Fortune 500 company. He also served as Chairman of the Board for DHI Financial from 2018-2019. Prior to his time at D.R. Horton, Randy served as the President & CEO with CH Financial Services, a Division of Continental Homes.
Randy began his business career in the commercial banking business in Dallas, TX. He moved to Austin, TX in the 80’s and become CEO of a bank founded by a group of investors. He continued in executive leadership roles in the financial services industry. Additionally, Randy has served on the elder board of his local church. He has also been on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Central Texas since 2013.
Randy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M with a BBA in Finance. He has been married to Cathy for 43 years and they have 3 adult children and one grandson.
Joel is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Texas Facilities Commission. He provides strategic direction and guidance to over 400 employees as they operate 28 million square feet of state-owned and leased facilities, impacting 62,000 state employees. Previous roles have included the deputy executive director for the Texas Racing Commission, senior manager for Ernst and Young, and senior leadership in the Air Force, where he retired as a Colonel after 24 years of service.
While on active duty in the Air Force, Joel served in a variety of different leadership roles. Most recently, he was the chief financial officer and squadron commander for the largest combat wing in the Air Force in Okinawa, Japan. Additionally, he served at the Pentagon where he directly supported the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force in the integration of investment budget requirements from across the Air Force that led to the execution of $44B in investment funding.
He is married to Kymberli Speight, who is an author and speaker. Together they have two adult sons. He enjoys mentoring other men, serving on the board of advisors for a local non-profit start-up, traveling with Kymberli, and getting together with friends.
